Houston, neighborhood by neighborhood
A steel entry for a new build in Cinco Ranch has almost nothing in common with a wrought iron door replacing a 1930s original in River Oaks. Here is how we approach the parts of Houston we work in most.
River Oaks and Tanglewood
Mostly replacements on established homes, where the door has to sit inside existing masonry and match a facade that was never designed around it. We measure the opening as built rather than assuming a standard size, and match the arch, transom or sidelight profile the house already has.
Memorial and Bunker Hill
Wide entries and tall ceilings. This is where double doors at 74" × 97" and pivot configurations do the most work, usually with clear or Low E glass to keep the entry bright without opening up the whole facade.
The Woodlands, Spring and Kingwood
Heavy tree cover, constant shade and damp air that never fully dries out. Finish durability matters more here than anywhere else in the metro, and we spec accordingly.
Katy, Cinco Ranch and Sugar Land

Built for Gulf Coast humidity
Houston is the hardest climate in Texas for an exterior metal door. It is not the heat. It is humidity that never really lets go, wind-driven rain for several months of the year, and salt in the air the closer you get to the bay. Steel handles all of it, but only if it is built and finished for it.
Every door we make is formed in our own shop from 11-gauge steel — no filler, no hollow tube stock. The jamb and the slab are both filled with closed-cell polyurethane foam, which does not hold water the way open-cell insulation does. The glass is double tempered and insulated. The perimeter gets full weather stripping on both the door and the glass frame, plus a sweep at the threshold, so wind-driven rain has nowhere to sit.
The finish is a polyurethane paint selected for resistance to humidity, UV and corrosion, available in Dark Copper, Copper, Pewter, Dark Bronze, Bronze and Black. It carries a five-year warranty. The structure behind it carries a lifetime structural warranty.
What that adds up to in practice is a door that does not swell, does not warp with the seasons, and does not need refinishing every couple of years the way wood does in this part of Texas.

How much does a custom iron door cost in Houston?
Price depends on size, configuration, glass and hardware. A single door at the standard 38″ × 97″ sits at the low end; double doors at 74″ × 97″, pivots and custom arches move up from there. We quote from your actual opening rather than a catalog price, and the quote is free.
How long does it take?
Every door is made to order, so there is fabrication time after the design is approved and the opening is measured. You get the lead time in writing when the order is placed.
Do you install, or just supply the door?
We handle installation. The jamb is set, shimmed and levelled, the slab is hung and adjusted, and the perimeter is sealed. On a replacement we take out the old unit as part of the job.
Will it pass my HOA?
In Katy, Cinco Ranch, Sugar Land and The Woodlands, most architectural committees want a drawing and a finish specification before they approve. We provide both before anything is cut.
